Many children and families today are struggling. Struggling with abuse, neglect, substance abuse, and complex family issues.

Lutheran Child and Family Service of Michigan (LCFS of Michigan) is a beacon of hope for those children and families who are struggling. LCFS of Michigan provides this hope through the work of compassionate staff, volunteers, foster parents and adoptive parents, with comprehensive, statewide programs that meet or exceed client needs.

LCFS of Michigan provides:
- Over 16,000 children, individuals and families with services annually
- 21 office locations, with regional headquarters in Bay City, Grand Rapids and Metropolitan Detroit
- State-wide adoption services
- Foster care placements
- Multiple models of Family Preservation Services to keep children safely in their own homes
- Individual and family counseling
- Substance abuse services for individuals and families
- Three group homes that provide a safe, stable living environment for emotionally and mentally impaired young people
- Pregnancy, teen parent and maternal/infant support services
- Employment for more than 300 people
LCFS of Michigan also:
- Is governed by a 27-member, volunteer board of directors
- Has an operating budget of more than $19 million, 90 percent of which goes directly to programs and services
- Is a Recognized Service Organization of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod
