In Kind Donations

Changing the lives of children AND families isn’t something we can do alone – our ability to care for others is largely attributed to the individuals, churches and organizations that generously support us. We could not continue to meet the needs of the numerous children and families who we serve each year, without the monetary and in-kind donations that we are fortunate enough to receive.

In-kind donations are an opportunity for individuals, churches and organizations to donate products or services that are routinely purchased in support of the care we provide. The use of in-kind support allows us to direct more funds to the delivery of family services and allows more children to receive the care they need.

Examples of in-kind products and service projects are as follows:

Community Caring Projects

SOAR- Students Offering Assistance and Reassurance to Others: Students donate school supplies to other needy students.  Paper, pens, backpacks and glue are just a few items that students can donate to help. SECURE SLEEP: Many children are in need of items that help them feel warm, snug and safe at night.  Donations of blankets, sheets, pillows and quilts will help supply these fundamental needs.

CHRISTMAS CARING:  In an effort to share the true meaning of Christmas and the joy of Christ's birth with others, help LCFS provide Christmas presents to children and families in need.  Your donation ensures that a child will have something to open on Christmas morning.

FAMILIES HELPING FAMILIES- Volunteer as a Family: Sponsor fun activities for needy families.  "Family Fun Night Baskets" help at-risk families learn how to interact with each other positively with the assistance of donated games, art supplies, non-perishable snacks and gift certificates.
BIRTHDAY IN A BOX: Bring birthday joy to foster children.  Items such as cake mixes, small toys, birthday theme paper plates, napkins, and hats are placed in a decorated shoebox and delivered to foster children the week of their birthday.  Help a child celebrate their special day with Birthday in a Box! DUFFEL BAGS: Children who have been removed from their home often arrive with all their belongings in black plastic garbage bags.  The unspoken message is that they and their belongings are no better than trash.  Help provide a  duffel bag for children to transport their belongings.  Please call the office nearest you for duffel bag dimension.
FAMILY CARE BASKETS : Families who are struggling with basic living needs are provided with a laundry basket filled with paper supplies, linens, cleaning supplies and other safety items.  Hands, Heads, Hearts & Feet: Each fall children and families serviced by the agency are in need of coats, hats, gloves and boots to keep them warm and dry during the winter months.
CAR SEATS:  New infant, toddler and booster car seats are provided to families who cannot afford this necessary safety item. FOOD:  Non-perishable food is always needed.
